Thanksgiving for Animals Procured
during the Hunt
For the past century, we have been having this ceremony in Iomante to honor animal gods Kotan Koro Kamui (gods which protect the village communities). The proceedings once lasted several days.Nowadays, this very unusual ceremony is promoted by our community as a major cultural event.

We have recently set up the "Sounkyo Hana Monogatari" Enterprise to better serve and promote tourism in the Sounkyo Spa area.
Its purpose has been manifold. It centralized the lighting system for public spaces around the Sounkyo Canyon Mall shopping district, coordinated the gardening around the bathhouse facilities, and attempted to improve the level of service in terms of customer satisfaction and local hospitality. After all, a trip all the way up here should be more than just a look at Mount Taisetsu-san.

A world of color and illumination
This event starts on January 1 and lasts until March 31, with illumination between 5 and 10 PM.120 Objet D'Art in seven colors line the avenues and bathe the area in a wonderful aura.
